Shannon will be presenting her "hipster PDA" (3x5 index cards) (http://www.diyplanner.com/). I think this will be the first paper system we've seen! Looking forward to so lo-tech!

We'll have discussion around tips, tools, and techniques as usual.

Newcomers to the group and newbies to GTD are always welcome (and probably in good company :-)

We sit in the back of the "gallery", which is outside the main dining area, on the lower floor level next to the brewery. There'll be some butcher paper covered tables.

We usually plan on hanging out for about 90 minutes.

Please bring cash for whatever you'd like to order (great food and beer!), plus 18% gratuity, as Hale's requires that we pay on one check with gratuity included.

In our last meetup, the group decided to structure our next meetups around group member's "telling their stories" about how they came about their "trusted systems": trials, failures, successes, recommendations. In August, Mike and Karl will share their GTD journeys, and attendees will have the opportunity to learn by hearing someone else's story, asking questions, and gleaning tips and best practices. As time allows we'll have general Q&A/discussion/demo as well to help new GTDers learn from those who've been doing it a while, and experienced GTDers to learn new tricks too!

Hale's Ales lets us use the Gallery for free, but they require an 18% gratuity on whatever we purchase, and they'll only give us one bill. So if you're going to order, please bring CASH for whatever you expect to buy, plus 18% for your share of the gratuity. Since they're only giving us one bill for the whole group--we can just pool our cash in the middle of the table at the end!

This will be the very first Meetup for The Seattle Getting Things Done Meetup Group!
We'll use the time to get to know each other, talk about being People to Get Things Done, discuss what we want out of our Meetups, and what would be the best time and frequency for all of us to meet in the future. I'll have my Tablet PC handy to show off MindManager and ResultsManager for anyone who hasn't already seen it...

The location has been moved to Hale's Ales to ensure that we'll have adequate space, and low ambient noise levels for our discussion. I have reserved their Gallery (between the restaurant and brewery). Dad Watson's would have worked up to six or eight comfortably--I'm delightfully surprised at our higher response rate :-)

Hale's Ales is very close to Dad Watson's. The cost to reserve the Gallery is free, but they require an 18% gratuity on whatever we purchase, and they'll only give us one bill. So if you're going to order, please bring CASH for whatever you expect to buy, plus 18% for your share of the gratuity. Since they're only giving us one bill for the whole group--we can just pool our cash in the middle of the table at the end!

When we meet the first time, we can evaluate the accomodations against our needs to see if we might want to continue using that space or find an alternate location.
